Rathalos Monster Hunter C2C Afghan
Jun. 8th, 2022 11:21 amLong term work in progress. My tension is off a bit more than I'd like between the border and the center, BUT considering how many years were between them it's decent. I am also super excited that it is done.

2021 March -
2022 FINISHED - yikes, a year has gone by. I got seriously stuck after needing to redo the corner charts. I hadn't allowed for the increases properly at the corners. Then other life stuff happened (we moved) and this went to the closet again.

Constant Change
Husband changed his mind multiple times about what he wanted. Instead of one mega-blanket (with four dragons sewn together) this idea has become smaller ones. Also he wanted the first one backed. This blanket would have been done years ago but for that. At one point in 2020 I got him to say we shouldn't back it, and have a mosaic border.
WIP Spring Cleaning 2021
2021 Jan - with the help of a Monster Hunter crafting fan, picked the Art Deco motif in mosaic crochet as the border. It is the closest match thematically for the game art.
2021 Feb -
2021 Feb -
- SC row around the dragon to be a foundation row.
- 2nd SC row to equalize stitch counts -I'd tried being careful but they were all slightly different.
- row counted and motif balanced for AGES
- as I'm doing this in the round, not in rows, I needed to create a corner chart. Complete!
- began working on the actual border!

2021 March -
- realized the reason my border tension looks so wonky is that I have misidentified the size of hook I used for the center. I should be using an F, not an H. Ahem. Frogged.
- new work with size F hook looks a ton better already.
2022 FINISHED - yikes, a year has gone by. I got seriously stuck after needing to redo the corner charts. I hadn't allowed for the increases properly at the corners. Then other life stuff happened (we moved) and this went to the closet again.
- 28 March - sorted some problems, did a couple rows.
- 8 May - started picking away at the border. we're having a small heat wave, and heat does make me feel better. Began having it next to me and doing at least half a round here and there.
- 17 May - reached the center row of the border. Realized I do not have enough Kelly Green (used extra on a holiday gift) and ordered some.
- 2 June - finished off the green! Only 2 linen rows to go of the border.
- 7 June - complete! I did a row of crab stitch (reverse SC) as is my general ending of an afghan.
